Hamira’s work these days is all about inspiring, motivating and empowering young people to engage with and become more fully involved in our democratic society. She believes that we shouldn’t sit back and expect others to get on with it we should be participating and contributing to make a real difference.

Hamira does this through her role at the Scottish Youth Parliament. Hamira joined the SYP in 2010 and brought with her strong people management skills, an astute business mind and a vision for the future of the SYP. Hamira’s role includes liaising with government officials and parliamentarians, overseeing the financial health and good reputation of the organisation and continue to drive SYP towards growth and long-term prosperity.
